CONNECTIVITY THROUGH STORIES
Rare Birds is a Caribbean-based female-led business investing in and celebrating early stage women-led social enterprises in developing economies and emerging markets. I believe that the early stages of business are a crucial time and often the most ignored. We, in most cases, only read about successful female entrepreneurs, years after they have already expelled the grit and grace required to achieve, said success! Additionally, with the shifting changes in the global economy, more and more women in usually unrecognized parts of the world are contributing significantly to their economies and creating new, fresh and vibrant stories as female entrepreneurs.
Global economic shifts, a desire to share the unheard stories of women in the developing economies of the world combined with a need to highlight what the journey is like in those first few years of business, was the impetus for Rare Birds.
I believe that the path to success in any career (and life generally) begins with first defining who you are and then deciding what role you want to play in our ever-changing world. Some may refer to it as purpose others may call it a roadmap or big vision! I have also defined this as being Rare. For me, being Rare is a way of life and goes beyond building a business. As you navigate this website, I would like you to remember that Rare is a mindset, Rare is a lifestyle and Rare is a movement! Through this platform, I hope you find a piece of yourself and in that process, develop your own definition of what it means to be Rare!
