Energetic. Optimistic. Progressive. My philosophy is to ‘focus on big impact opportunities with a learning, forward thinking and pragmatic perspective. It is not surprise that I thrive on program and project management opportunities as well as interpersonal development facets.While I have obtained experience working with several companies that include Merrill Lynch, St. Croix Insurance and Jacobs Engineering Groups, the bulk of my expertise can be attributed to my economic development and community revitalization work with the St. Croix Foundation for Community Development as a Community Development Program Officer & Property Manager, as well as the Virgin Islands Next Generation Network as a lead Program Manager. It is within these capacities that I was able to manage millions of dollars in federal grants, redesign Digital Literacy Programs and revitalize over $700,000 worth of local properties in the historic St. Croix districts.
I have coupled my accomplishments within the non-profit arena with my experience in Life Coaching to fulfill my passion for the Virgin Islands and our community by forming my own company, Virgin Islands Coaching and Consulting. Through this avenue, I intend to take project management to a new level by helping individuals and organizations better manage themselves and maximize their potential!
RB: Tell us the why behind your business.
SD:The Virgin Islands needed to have a coach and a consultant that is well rounded towards individual and businesses need. Coaching and consulting are needed to help someone to develop and grow themselves and/or their business.

RB: What major challenges did you face when setting up your business and how did you overcome them?
SD: I didn’t have any major challenges when I was setting up my business, because I knew where and what I needed to do.

RB: Who has been the greatest influence on you since starting your business and why?
SD: My family and friends have been my greatest influence, they have been my cheerleaders. They know me and understand how driven I am to help others. The one advice they have given me is to “stick with my business”. It will take time to grow your business, therefore, stick with it.

RB: What is the vision for your business and where do you see it five years from now?
SD: The vision for my business is to continue to assist people to better themselves. When one takes time to grow, it changes their lives and the community they live in. Healing one person at a time.
