J0-Ann talks to Ruqya shares with us her thoughts on gratitude and acceptance. She believes acceptance comes before gratitude and that through gratitude entrepreneurs can emerge stronger, more resilient and as better leaders. Ruqya mentioned, “Within your entrepreneurial journey be accepting of the fact that there will be good days and bad. The good ones did not come as a favour and the bad ones are not a curse. Each come to play their role, teach you something and grow you. Being worried about a lost opportunity or a failed deal makes you constantly look at what is missing and that is your real loss.” Ruqya delivers a TED Talk recently where she used the acronym SMILE. Since then she has delivered talks, workshops and presentations on how it can be used to propel the individual forward. Are you using gratitude?
