Andrea is a social entrepreneur with a passion for empowering vulnerable people, she co-founded in 2006 ACT Training Services, a London-based social enterprise to provide employability skills to people who were out of work and seeking to secure sustainable employment. Over the years our company has trained some 6,000 people free at the point of delivery, enabling them to gain marketable qualifications and develop competencies that position them to move into employment or start their own business.
In 2013 Andrea co-founded Camptys Foundation: a not-for-profit organisation that supports front-line organisations working with disabled people across the world – enhancing their learning, play and health. With the help of people in the community and sporadic pots of funding we have managed for many years to send gifts of books, toys, clothing and accessories to disabled children and their families residing in developing countries. Andrea is a published author of two books as well as the inventor of the Pocket Learner, an educational development system geared primarily towards the support of children deemed slow learners and those with special educational needs. This invention has gained many accolades and has provided a launchpad for Andrea’s professional speaking career as she seeks to empower those families who are caring for a child with cognitive disabilities like she does. Andrea has a flair for languages and is a professional Spanish-English interpreter and translator.
