Anteneh is an Ethiopian from Addis Abeba who works as country product lead for Africa’s Talking. Africa’s Talking is a Pan-African technology company with operations in dozens of African countries. Africa’s Talking provides communication (SMS, USSD, Voice, Airtime) and Payments (mobile money, bank, card) infrastructure to software developers and businesses’. Essentially the aim is to have businesses’ focus on creating great experiences for their customers without worrying about the infrastructure to deliver these experiences.
He is also the founder of Shega. Shega is an online publication and research platform which focuses on the Ethiopian tech and startup space. Shega also organizes events and tech meetups as well as support and consultation to local and international investors, incubators/accelerators and startups.
Anteneh is interested in Innovation and startup ecosystems across emerging markets with a more specific focus on Africa, China and India. His curiosity for emerging technologies also led him to blockchain and crypto, where he spends his free time reading and engaging in the subject area. He is also the community organiser of Digital Asset Ethiopia, together with other enthusiasts.
Before Africa’s Talking and Shega, Anteneh worked for Indian Fintech startup, Cred which to date has raised over $100 million. Anteneh is an Alumni of AIESEC, where he volunteered for three years and is a member of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).
