Marium has spent the better part of the last decade studying waste management and treatment technologies. An SCI journal published author, her work on the treatment of pharmaceutical wastewater using advanced treatment technologies reflects her ethos that technology combined with a pinch of empathy for humanity can solve some of mankind’s biggest problems.
She’s currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Environmental Engineering, this time delving into the field of environmental catalysis studying the catalytic hydrodeoxygenation of lignin (wrongly considered by many to be waste) into value-added chemicals and their potential uses in synthesizing green agro-chemicals. As Co-Founder of the tech startup Ayfinergy, she is promoting her project in China, Ghana and Bangladesh, her home country, and has been collaborating with experts from around the world to get this initiative off the ground. Between academia and entrepreneurship, Marium spends time dabbling in code, educating, moonlighting as a voice-over artist and enjoying the good life.
