I’m Pat Duckworth, the Founder of Smarter Menopause. I am a Women’s Health Strategist specialising in working with women, and their employers, to manage the changes that occur at menopause.
From research and from my experience I understand that when women receive appropriate support in the workplace they are able to work more efficiently and effectively. Women who feel they can speak openly to their managers about what they are experiencing are likely to have less sick absence, better relationships with colleagues and improved morale.
That process starts with giving leaders and managers the information and knowledge they need to understand how menopause can affect their female colleagues.
My menopause journey led me to take a very different career path. After over 30 years working in Civil Service at senior management levels, I decided to pursue my interest in complementary approaches to health and well being.
I trained with the Internationally recognised Quest Institute founded by Trevor Silvester. Since then I have worked with hundreds of clients, helping them to take back control of symptoms they are experiencing.
In 2012 I published my first Award-winning book ‘Hot Women, Cool Solutions; How to control menopause symptoms using mind/body techniques’.
