I am Pratiksha Mundye, Fashion and Jewellery designer by profession & owner of ‘Sringar Jewellery’ based out of Panaji, Goa, India. Sringar Jewellery deals exclusively in designer handcrafted terracotta jewellery, Tribal German silver jewellery and fabric jewellery. I may be a small-town girl from Bicholim, Goa, but I have never let that define my dreams and have instead chose to live out-of-the-box, aided by quirky mix of creative and business sensibilities. I always had my eye on the trend, but ensured I stood out with a singular approach to popular demands whether couture or fashion jewellery. I completed my diploma in fashion designing and cloth manufacturing from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Hyderabad. After 7 years in the fashion industry, I took a break for 5 years to look after my toddler son. Then in January 2019, after almost six months of research, I hit on a new idea. Fashion trends had changed in the intervening decade. As always I was clear, that whatever I did, had to be unique and yet simultaneously creative. I had the education and the skill, all that left was to now let the two meet to birth something unusual. And thus, the idea of handmade terracotta fashion jewellery, which was not very popular in Goa got a overwhelming response from the ladies here. Thus thereafter ‘Sringar Jewellery’ commenced and expanded into various forms of imitation jewellery.Unlike, my earlier business, this time, my idea of ‘Sringar Jewellery’ was aided by the power of social media networks, not only was the love and response I received from day one was overwhelming, but also the exposure to other intelligent business entrepreneurs was empowering.
“With growing popularity, I got the chance to meet some very intelligent women entrepreneurs from Goa. We always strive to give our patrons something new with every design of ours. We participate in various physical exhibitions in Goa, Mumbai and Pune and also on online platforms. Going international was a step ahead to expand our brand. We have started a branch in Atlanta, USA and happy to say that our kind of ethnic terracotta designs have been welcome and liked by the Indian community as well as Americans.
